On April 19, the Yancheng Wetland and Natural World Heritage Conservation and Management Center authoritatively released the “Yancheng Bird Checklist V3.0 (2024 Edition)”. The Checklist shows that by the end of the 2024-2025 wintering bird survey (end of February 2025), Yancheng has recorded a total of 447 wild bird species, belonging to 23 orders and 73 families, accounting for 29.48% of China’s total bird species (referencing The CBR Checklist of Birds of China V12.0 and IOC World Bird List V14.2). This includes 185 species of passerines (Order Passeriformes, 33 families) and 262 species of non-passerines (22 orders, 40 families), including 187 species of waterbirds (12 orders, 26 families).
